Shakespeare Posters

This project goal was to create a hypothetical poster series for the annual Shakespeare plays in Griffith Park. The aim was to create visually interesting drop caps representing aspects of each of Shakespeare's plays as well as their combined presence for the promotional poster.

Descriptive drop caps.

Each separate drop cap was designed around the themes present in the Shakespeare plays Pericles and Twelfth Night. The drop cap “P” features nautical and greek motifs in the honor of the play Pericles. To play off of Viola’s dual personas in Twelfth Night, I chose to incorporate flowers as decoration and a mustache motif as its base.

Three-fold marketing.

I chose a color palette for both letters that would be complimentary to a base color of deep purple, and simultaneously aesthetic as a unit. In the end, the promotional poster turned into a three-fold design to highlight both drop caps individually and unify them in the third poster.
