TVC App Redesign
The goal of this project was to take an app I use frequently, address its pain points, and redesigned the app based around these fixes. This involved analyzing the UX/UI of the current app, creating user personas, and wire framing the entire redesigned app. I chose The Village Church app because I use it often and had noticed inconveniences in the app over the years. I wanted to make the app more legible and more interactive for the frequent user, including the option to save notes and save sermons .

Personas and user flows.
I started by analyzing the common users and what their needs for apps would be. After doing this research, it was clear that legibility and interactivity were two of The Village Church’s pain points. The screen text and design were small and organized by date instead of theme. The sermons themselves also weren’t conducive to user interaction, and lacked features for taking notes or saving sermons.
Wireframes on wireframes.
There was an extensive amount of change in the user flow of the app, which translated to a large number of wireframes being created. I made these in Adobe XD and from there I was able to create a working prototype of the newly designed app.
Final UI design.
Featured here are the final full designed sermon series and sermon overview screens. The artwork comes from The Village Church’s sermon artwork from their current app. All of the icons are custom designed and the color palette and typeface reflect TVC’s current branding strategy.
